Twelfth Blog Assignment

What Myers means by "lying is a cooperative act" is that a lie has no value until both parties agree to believe the lie. I do agree with this because its true that a successful lie needs to be believed. It works if someone lets themselves believe the lie. When Myers says lying is a way of connecting what we wish we were with what we are, I think she is trying to say that people lie to make themselves feel better about themselves. I would agree with Truth #2 because us as humans are morally against lying but then we see that it is incorporated into our very society. Eleventh blog assignment

By the time I leave college I want to be able to succeed in a workplace, function as an adult, learn to deal with stressful situations, manage my time effectively, and be able to complete difficult tasks. Functioning as an adult would be like being able to be take on responsibilities like paying taxes, showing up to places you have to be at. Succeeding in a workplace would being able to respect yourself and the work environment. learning to deal with stressful situations is important because life always involves some degree of a stressful situation. Being able to manage time effectively will leave more time for recreational activities. Having the mental fortitude to complete difficult task would benefit you because life is full of difficult people from bosses to stubborn coworkers. I wish to gain these particular skills because in my opinion these are vitals skills for succeeding in life.
